How Support Can Help In Quitting Smoking

Did you know that studies have proven that you have a better chance of quitting smoking if you have help? In fact, you are up to eight times more likely to be successful in quitting smoking if you are participating in a support program rather than trying to stop on your own. There are many ways you can get support, like from your family, your friends, your doctor, support groups or even phone counseling. In fact, the more support you get, the better your chances of quitting smoking!

Support is a very important part of quitting smoking. Getting support is the best first move you can ever make, if you really want to quit smoking. It satisfies the psychological support you need when you quit smoking. In fact, most of the time support is all you need to keep you moving in the right direction and motivated to stay quit.

Even if you are using smoking cessation or nicotine replacement products to quit smoking, you will notice an even greater improvement when you complement them with a support program.

At the same time, it has also been studied that giving support to someone like a quit buddy (someone who is quitting smoking with you) will help you motivate yourself as well. Being able to relate this person, you can share views and support each other during times of vulnerability and that really goes a long during the first few weeks.
