Need Help Quiting Smoking- A Simple Exercise That Works!

When you made that life changing decision in the new year  to become a non smoker - did you know that statistics show that most people who are successful in kicking the habit  need help to quit smoking?

There are many kinds of help available, but many people struggle and fail because they believe they can't do it on their own. They fail to understand that there is many types of quitting/cessation methods available to them. Is this how you feel?

I was a long term smoker - 20 years, and I failed time after time with my attempts to stop. When I decided to seek help in my smoking cessation, that is when I realised my Quit attempts were going to become a lot easier.

So let's start on that aspect - there are some very important aspects to understand which can be the difference between success and failure.

You must understand the great benefits of becoming a non smoker - Visual the difference between a healthy non-smoker, and someone who has cancer or a heart condition. Which would you rather be? - We would all chose the healthy non smoker option, that's a fact of life. Once you develop a serious illness related to your smoking habits you will have lost a big part of a healthy body and mind forever.
A simple exercise for you to do - Create  a list of all the benefits you will lose or miss out on if you continue as a smoker and fall ill. Read the list back to yourself, and be honest about it, and try to understand the price you could pay for continuing with your addiction.  - I guarantee that this will be the right steps to take in your quest to quit smoking. When it is written down on paper it becomes as plain as day and will definitely be the best and most important  decision you will make in your life.

Now lets concentrate on the positive things and benefits you will gain when you succeed in becoming a non smoker - everyone knows that thinking about the positive effects is a huge help to quit smoking.

Your positive List:
You will definitely feel better.
Your physical fitness will improve.
Your energy levels will increase.
No more huffing and puffing going up several flights of stairs.
You will sleep better.
Food will taste much better.
You will have more money.
You won't smell of cigarettes anymore.

Have a think about it and add more to  the list - this list will become a reference to you and will be a great motivator to help you quit smoking.
Think of these exercises as being the foundations to stop smoking. Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done however if you really get to grips with the things you will lose if you become ill from smoking, and also really understand all the positive effects on your life of becoming a non smoker, then you will have taken a big step forward.

When you get you head around the understanding of these things in detail, that will be a huge help to quit smoking. It maybe only a start, but by making a list tells you that you are serious about quitting. You will have taken the first steps in the road to recovery and your health will prosper and transform your life -Never be afraid to ask for help to quit smoking, its your one shot at life so live it and fullfill your through potential as a non smoker.

Stop smoking 2010 - Walk Yourself Healthy

Now with the 2010 upon us its time to cash in on your New Years Resolutions. Its time to implement those changes we have so rightly promised ourselves.

Take action, Quit that cigarette now, put it down and start your New Year and new life Nicotine free. I presume you are reading this blog because you either have Quit Cigarettes or want to Quit Smoking. It will not be the easiest task you will ever take on, many people have fallen off the wagon at an early stage. This is because they don't really believe that they can do it. The self believe is not strong in them. They cant picture themselves smoke free in the future.

Your concept of smoking must change if you are to succeed in becoming a Nicotine Quitter. Scale back the importance you put on smoking as it needs to be put way down the priority list.
My big tip for kicking the habit in the new year is to replace the cravings with something else. This is a method I adopted for my own quit last year with great success. Walking, yes plain old free walking is a great substitute for smoking. Every time the cravings got a bit out of hand I went for a walk, every situation that accured that I would normally smoke, I went walking.Walking become my new drug. I started with little walks between 5-8 minutes at a time. As i got further into my Quit I increased my walking periods to more frequent and longer periods.

There were great things happening to me, as i was enjoying the benefits of not smoking, I was also enjoying the benefits of exercise. Walking is just an example of an exercise that suited and worked for me, but choose an activity that fits in with your own quit routine. Most exercise is free and can be done with little inconvenience, therefore give it some consideration as you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
Become a Nicotine Quitter today.
